CDO Workforce and Family Resource Network are co-sponsoring a seminar about how to establish and grow your ABLE Accounts and ADA Basics for Job Seekers. 

The seminar will explain the eligibility requirement and how to establish an ABLE Accounts. ABLE accounts help eligible individuals with disabilities save for their futures without jeopardizing their public benefits. 

It is not required that you be receiving public benefits to have an ABLE account as there are significant financial advantages of having an ABLE account that can often outweigh other types of long-term savings tools. 

Also ADA information will be provided about disclosing a disability in the workplace.

Workplace Investigations - Best Practices

This two-day seminar will give employers and investigators an understanding of the tools needed to plan and conduct interviews, gather, organize and review different types of evidence, draw appropriate conclusions, document an investigation and make the right recommendations for actions.
In this seminar, participants will learn crucial interview techniques to gather appropriate and relevant information and how to recognize truthful and deceptive behavior. This seminar is interactive and involves group breakout sessions.

National Disability Voter Registration Week (officially July 15th-July 19th) promotes community involvement and civic participation across the country with a focus on registering individuals with disabilities to vote.

Resources and Events

The Resource Center for Independent Living, Inc. (RCIL), in collaboration with Disability Rights New York (DRNY), is offering free community voter education and registration events in honor of National Disability Voter Registration Week.
