Are you starting a business? Are you already in business and need an entrepreneurial “tune-up?” The Small Business Training Program is for you. 

Learn from the experts how to build your idea into a profitable venture. 

Classes take place on two (2) consecutive Wednesdays. Each session is a full day of classroom training beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 4:30 pm.

Both sessions are included in the price of $75.00. An SBDC Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the 2nd session. This Certificate is a requirement of the Otsego County and City of Oneonta Microenterprise Grant Program. More importantly, you will walk away with valuable knowledge, ideas, motivation and resources.

Electrician's Helper Training

SUNY Delhi and CDO Workforce 60 Hour Electrician’s Helper Training

When:  June 17th—June 27th - Monday—Thursday each week-9am—5pm

Where: ATEC Lab on SUNY Delhi Campus

Combination of lecture and lab classes, approximately 50% theory and 50% hands on learning activities.

Topics:

 Safety

 Tools of the trade and their use

 Finding and interpreting information in the National Electrical Code

 Trade specific mathematics Drawing and interpreting schematic, wiring, and one-line diagrams

 Ohm’s Law calculations involving current, voltage, power, and resistance in electrical circuits

 Recognize appropriate wiring methods used in residential installations

 Installation of single pole, three-way, and four-way switches

 Installation of duplex receptacles

 Installation of ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacles

 Installation of dryer and range receptacles

Youth Job Readiness Training Workshop

Register today for this free, informative workshop brought to you by Springbrook, CDO Workforce, and The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce. 

Sessions will include discussion and instruction on how to find and maintain employment in today’s competitive job market as well as information regarding financial literacy. Students will be provided with a training workbook and an opportunity to enroll in programs to assist in finding employment after course completion. 

This training is open to persons of all abilities, with training content focused for Youth 18 - 24 years old with little work experience.

Social Security Entitlement Programs Workshops in Oneonta

FREE OMH Workshops on Social Security entitlement programs hosted by CDO Workforce 

When: Friday May 3rd | 11:30am to 3:30pm  

Where: CDO Workforce, 12 Dietz St., Oneonta, NY  

Many people with disabilities wait years before they are determined to be eligible for benefits. PASS plans,1619b, Medicaid Buy-In for Working people with a disability and some of the other underused mechanisms that will be covered. These free OMH workshops will show you the benefits and advantages by participating in Social Security entitlement programs.

• Workshop 1 – PASS Plans, 1.5 HOURS
• Workshop 2 – Medicaid Buy-in and 1619(b), 1 HOUR
• Workshop 3 – Social Security Forms and Resources, 45 MINUTES

These workshops will also teach you how to request a waiver for an overpayment; avoid spend-downs; use Social Security work incentives to help maintain SSI and SSDI eligibility as you explore returning to work; ease off cash benefits and into self-sufficiency; work full-time and maintain low cost (or even no-cost) health insurance; get expedited reinstatement of benefits.
