The Enhanced NYS B5 SUNY-CUNY Workforce Scholarship: Early Childhood is a needs-based scholarship designed to support those individuals working 20 hours or more in a licensed early childhood center or Family/Group Family Day Care Center.

The Enhanced NYS B5 CUNY/SUNY Early Childhood Workforce Scholarship is a grant for individuals seeking early childhood credentials, certificates degrees and or certification in early childhood education at CUNY or SUNY schools across the state. The scholarship is funded by the NYS Birth to Five grant and is jointly administered by the NY Early Childhood Professional Development Institute at the City University of New York and the Professional Development Program, Rockefeller College, University at Albany.

Women in Apprenticeships and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) Job Fair - January 12th

The Workforce Development Board's WANTO training grant will be hosting a virtual job fair on January 12th, from 11am to 1pm. 

We hope that you can join us for this great opportunity!

The Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations grant helps recruit, train, and retain women in quality pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs, and encourages them to pursue apprenticeships and non-traditional occupations. Non-traditional occupations are occupations where women make up 25% or less of the workforce, including but not limited to: trades, information technology (IT), advanced manufacturing, transportation, public safety, agriculture, and more.

This program is available in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Otsego, Schoharie, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins counties.

"The New York State Department of Labor is excited to invite you to our upcoming Southern Tier Virtual Career Fair, being held on Thursday, December 16th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm!"

BUSINESSES REGISTER NOW - DEADLINE FOR BUSINESSES TO REGISTER IS DECEMBER 6th!

***This event supports recruitment efforts in the Southern Tier Region of NY.  This includes Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Broome counties***

There will be a preview day on Wednesday, December 15th, where jobseekers can view content and job postings and prepare themselves for the “live” event.  The Virtual Career Fair will go live on December 16th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Following receipt of exhibiting businesses registrations, businesses will receive an email containing deadlines, important links for accessing the event, login credentials to “create” your booth and a Virtual Career Fair Exhibitors Guide.  This guide details information about the event, gives helpful tips and answers many frequently asked questions.  Department of Labor staff will be available throughout the process to help you with overall technical assistance.
