Responsibilities:
Fiscal and programmatic management; documentation of services, project compliance and performance, staff accountability; ability to direct and provide advising to participants; skill with interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff; ability to coordinate and promote project activities and services with other community agencies; skills in oversight of data management and reporting for project evaluation; commitment to represent the project and advocate for the needs of disadvantaged students within the community; demonstrated service on community activities; and demonstrated commitment to foster a supportive, collaborative climate.
Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred in education, counseling or related field; four years paid work experience in program, personnel and budget management, preferably in not for profit programs, with preference for candidates who have experience working with ESL populations and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Required knowledge and experience: fiscal and programmatic compliance with federal regulations, federal program planning and evaluation; budget management; ability to engender strong interagency support; working knowledge of databases and data collection, analysis and evaluation, and other technologies; familiarity with student development and learning theory, academic advisement and college survival, learning styles and strategies; ability to communicate across cultural differences; impact of culture on learning; tutor training and supervision; knowledge of two- and four-year articulation issues; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and demonstrated ability to implement a service-oriented program in an efficient and timely manner.
