Oneonta Job Corps in partnership with Hudson Valley Community College, SkyOp, and the Albert S. Nader Regional Airport (formerly Oneonta Municipal Airport) is offering its 4th Drone Pilot advanced training class in March 2020. Ten students will prepare for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot exam to become a licensed commercial drone pilot.
This is a 300-hour training program that consists of the following modules:
• Introduction to SUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems)
• Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot Test
• Hands-On DJI Phantom Training
• Introduction to Photo & Video Drone Production
• Understanding Autonomous Flight Uses and Applications
• Introduction to Pix4D Graphical Information System
Eligibility – (Application attached) Students who are 18 years of age, have TABE Reading & Math scores of 580, have completed a Career Technical Trade in any field, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, are medically fit to be a pilot, and are non-smokers (Oneonta JC is a Smoke & Tobacco Free campus), are eligible to apply. Preference is given to those students in the following areas:
• Military Pathway (Please submit ASVAB test score)
• Information Technology
• Security
• Construction
